Counseling for children and teens

Watching your child struggle can be overwhelming. Whether it's anxiety, depression, difficulty with life transitions or emotional overwhelm, challenges arise throughout a child's development. The pressures of social media, academic demands and relational instability can have compounding impacts on young people that affect their ability to thrive.

The Center for Psychological and Family Services (CPFS) offers child therapy and therapy for teenagers as a crucial resource for early intervention. We aim to help young people develop essential coping skills and foster long-term resilience.

Psychotherapy that gets to the root of the problem

While traditional therapy practices can be a source of peace, they do not always penetrate the source of the problem. Our depth therapists have advanced psychodynamic training to work with children and teens at a deep level. Recognizing that each child is unique in their own right and so much more than a diagnosis or "problem," we use nuanced techniques, such as play therapy and sand tray, to meet the child or teen where they are. We also offer dedicated individual parent sessions in order to collaborate closely with parents and support the family system.

With stronger self-awareness and emotional intelligence, young people are able to better understand their feelings, change self-defeating patterns, deepen relationships and live happier lives. Contact us to pair your child with the right therapist who can help get to the root of anxiety, depression or trauma.
